When you visit this website

This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and does not load fonts, scripts or other files from third-party services. Everything it needs is served from its own address.

The company that hosts the website keeps standard server logs to run and secure it. These logs record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. They are used for operating and protecting the website and not to identify or profile visitors.

When you contact us

If you email Shelf Pilots, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you send, such as a store address, marketplace or revenue figure. This is used to reply to you and, if you ask for one, to prepare an account audit. It is not added to a mailing list and not used for advertising.

When you upload reports for an audit

The audit form on this site takes two files, the advertising bulk file and the business report, and the email address the audit should be sent to. The files contain your own Amazon sales and advertising data. They are not made public and are not shared with anyone outside Shelf Pilots.

Uploaded files are stored on the website's hosting account in a directory that is not served to the web, under a randomly generated filename rather than the one you uploaded. They are read only to prepare your audit, and are deleted automatically 30 days after upload. Your email address is used to send the audit and to reply about it, and for nothing else. If you would rather not upload anything, the same two files can be emailed to hello@shelfpilots.com, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time.

When you become a client

To deliver the services, we handle your business contact details and, with your authorisation, access your Amazon advertising and seller account data: campaign, search term, sales, fee and listing reports. This access is granted by you through Amazon's own user permission controls and can be removed by you at any time.

Account data is used only to deliver the services you engage us for. Data obtained through Amazon's advertising tools is handled under Amazon's terms for that data. When an engagement ends, our access to your Amazon accounts is removed.

Who else handles the data

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. Some service providers handle it on our behalf, only as needed to provide their service:

  • the website hosting provider, for the server logs described above
  • the email provider, for messages sent to and from our address
  • AI software tools, including Claude by Anthropic, used to analyse client account data and draft reports
  • Amazon, whose systems hold your account data and through which we access it

Some of these providers process data outside India, including in the United States.

How long data is kept

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and deleted on request if no engagement follows Files uploaded to the audit form are deleted automatically 30 days after upload, whether or not an engagement follows. Client records are kept for the length of the engagement and afterwards for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or completed, have it erased, withdraw consent you have given, and raise a grievance. You can also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have rights under the GDPR, including to object to processing, to receive your data in a portable form, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email hello@shelfpilots.com. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can take the complaint to the Data Protection Board of India or, in the EU or UK, to your data protection authority.

Children

This website and our services are for businesses. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's data.
